Silent Planet

Catching Silent Planet at Irving Plaza in NYC was a full-on sensory overload in the best way possible. Their lighting and stage production were mind-bending—moody, cinematic, and perfectly synced with every crushing breakdown and atmospheric swell. What stood out immediately was frontman Garrett Russell performing the entire set barefoot, adding an intimate, raw edge to an already emotionally charged performance. The guitars were absolutely absorbing, weaving between aggressive riffs and ethereal textures that pulled you deep into their sonic world. When they launched into “Antimatter,” and that synth-driven section hit, it felt like the venue got sucked into a black hole—utterly disorienting in the most incredible way. It was a moment where time and space seemed to collapse, and judging by the looks on the crowd’s faces, I wasn’t the only one who felt it. Silent Planet didn’t just play a show—they created an experience that lingered long after the lights went down. I walked out wishing the night had never ended.
